讲座描述/Description:
Through her travels from South Africa to other parts of the world, Ms. Molebatsi came to develop poems with the theme of “everyday people.” This theme naturally emerged through meeting diverse peoples and connecting with them on different levels. Her travels provided her with opportunities to realize that however different people may be – Black South African or not – we carry similarities that transcend any geopolitical borders, ideologies, and cultural differences. People are affected in the same way by poverty, war, and love, among abundant other issues of global concern. In this event, Ms. Molebatsi shares some poems on the theme and how they came about, showing connections between what we call “Politics” that have the potential to divide and the types of cross-cultural work that is being undertaken on the ground to draw people, especially of the Global South, together.gether.
