Pierre van der Eng is Associate Professor in International Business at the Research School of Management, Australian National University. His areas of research specialization include economic and business development in Indonesia and headquarter-subsidiary relations in multinational enterprises. At the ANU, Dr van der Eng was seconded as a Senior Fellow in Economics at the ANU Crawford School, and as Deputy Director of the ANU Centre for European Studies during 2011-2014. He holds a PhD from the University of Groningen in The Netherlands, served as a Vice-President of the Australia and New Zealand International Business Academy (ANZIBA), and Treasurer of the Economic History Society of Australia and New Zealand (EHSANZ), and has been editor of the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies (2012-2015) and the Australian Economic History Review (2000-2006). Dr van der Eng conducted consultancies for the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID). His research has previously been awarded funding by the Australian Research Council (Linkage Project), the Shibusawa Foundation (Tokyo), amongst others.
